Aid for Africa:  Grantee in 2011

Aid for Africa is a charity alliance dedicated to helping children, their families and communities throughout sub-Saharan Africa.  The alliance comprises more than 80 U.S.-based nonprofits that work with local partners to make a positive impact on the lives of the local residents.  Their mandate is very broad, overseeing a variety of programs that change based on community needs.  They touch almost every aspect of local life – including health, education, economic development, sanitation, agriculture, social justice and even wildlife conservation.

Through participation in the alliance, diverse nonprofits across Africa learn about each other and have the opportunity to form partnerships for collaborative projects.  Aid for Africa programs also helps members raise funds and reach out to the public.
